Spend the morning around Cours Lafayette, the cathedral, Place Puget and the port. Have lunch in the centre, at Halles Biltoki or a restaurant. In the afternoon, head to Mourillon for a walk near Fort Saint-Louis and some time on the beaches.
Your itinerary
Morning: market, lanes and harbour
Start at Cours Lafayette if the market is trading, then explore the streets around the cathedral and old squares. Do not buy delicate food at the start if you will continue for hours without returning to your accommodation. Finish the morning at the harbour to connect the city with its bay. If the weather is poor, replace part of the walk with the national maritime museum after checking its opening and entry conditions.
Lunchtime: choose a real break
Halles Biltoki suit groups with different tastes; an independent restaurant may better suit a desire for quiet or table service.
Afternoon: Mourillon at your pace
In the afternoon, head to Le Mourillon for a neighbourhood walk or some beach time. Fort Saint-Louis is a useful landmark for starting a seaside stroll. If you prefer kayaking or paddleboarding, book ahead and leave time to change and collect the equipment.
Evening: stay flexible
Return to your accommodation for a rest before going out again, or have dinner in the area where you are. A cultural evening at Le Télégraphe can provide a different ending if its programme appeals.
