Baudouvin has a plane-tree avenue, vegetable garden, orchard and fountains below Le Coudon. Spring water feeds the pools and reflects the estate’s farming history. It holds the Jardin remarquable label.
The walk in detail
The walk takes you through the garden by the house, planted areas and terraces, with pools and fountains along the way.
The official presentation highlights Coudon’s springs and the network supplying pools and fountains. Controlled water is central to the estate’s horticultural history. With children, try following the direction of water, then looking for differences between kitchen garden, orchard and ornamental areas. Scheduled activities can add to the visit, with their own booking arrangements.
The site has a long history, with several owners and uses before becoming a public garden. Its restoration brought local agricultural and landscape traditions back into view. For opening hours and prices, however, prefer the updated tourist listing: it announces free admission in 2026, while some older descriptions still show a charge.
The entrance is on Allée des Gibelin in La Valette-du-Var. The garden’s contact number is 04 94 23 74 04. The official listing gives Monday closure and seasonal hours; check your date rather than retaining a single year-round opening time. Allow around one to one and a half hours for a first stroll, longer for an activity. In hot weather choose a cooler time and carry water: trees do not shade every terrace.
