Le Baou des Quatre Oures is a rocky summit west of Toulon. Toudulon’s published loop is 4.8 km, taking roughly 1½–2 hours without stops. The climb is steep despite the short distance.
The walk in detail
Toudulon lists 4.8 kilometres and roughly one and a half to two hours for its loop. Treat these as the published route’s characteristics and add your own stops. The local account highlights places requiring attention to navigation and a sustained final climb. A short route is therefore not automatically an easy one. Before setting off, open the accompanying map and check the exact start and the return to the car park.
At the top, take time to identify Faron and Caume, then look back towards the sea.
The walk suits visitors who enjoy trails and accept a climb that will make their legs work. It is not an urban stroll in light shoes. The mountain’s more technical variants, including scree gullies or climbing passages, are not part of this recommendation. Do not add them spontaneously because a sign or track appears to reach the same summit.
Toudulon describes the start as the small car park at the end of the D2262. Check access and genuinely authorised parking spaces. Limited capacity makes a quieter time preferable; avoid obstructing access routes. Wind and fire risk may make the outing inappropriate. Check local instructions and bring water, a map and walking shoes.
