Day 1: explore the old town, market and port, adding a museum if you wish. Day 2: choose Mont Faron or a trip across the bay, with time to walk at your destination. Day 3: take an excursion to Hyères, Sanary, Porquerolles or Les Embiez.
Your itinerary
Day 1 — Get to know Toulon
Discover Cours Lafayette, the old town and harbour. Choose one indoor visit, such as the national maritime museum or a central exhibition, then leave proper time for lunch. A Mourillon stroll may be enough later in the day; there is no need to add a sporting activity immediately after arrival.
Day 2 — Choose the bay or the heights
Maritime option: take a water bus to one shore, allow time for a walk there and return with a margin. Panoramic option: prepare a visit to Faron, checking the cable car’s operation and authorised access. Wind or wildfire risk can change these options. Keep an urban alternative, such as a museum and Chalucet, rather than trying to preserve an outing that is advised against.
Day 3 — One proper excursion
Porquerolles or Les Embiez suit a planned island day; Hyères offers old streets, gardens and culture; Sanary combines harbour and strolling. Choose according to your pace and transport. With young children or a departure from Toulon that same evening, a short mainland excursion may be more relaxing than a boat crossing.
What makes the stay more enjoyable
Keep one evening free and leave a period without bookings. Shop for your accommodation when it is useful rather than carrying a basket all day.
