Two hours is enough for a first walk through central Toulon. Start at Place de la Liberté, continue to Place Puget, the cathedral and Cours Lafayette, then finish at the port. In the morning, you can include the market.
Your itinerary
1 — Find your bearings around Place de la Liberté
Start at Place de la Liberté, then head down towards the old town. If coming from the station, allow extra time for the connection to the loop according to your pace.
2 — Cross the squares and reach Cours Lafayette
Head through Place Puget towards the cathedral and Cours Lafayette. In the morning, the market can become the focus; later, look at façades and passages instead of expecting stalls that may have packed away. Entering the cathedral remains optional, depending on opening times and services. Choose just one short break: a coffee, fruit from the market or a few minutes on a square.
3 — Finish facing the bay
Reach the quays and take time to look at the bay. Identify the water buses and guided-tour departure points for another outing. Do not board without recalculating the return: your two-hour loop immediately becomes a different programme. If time is running short, remove a detour through the lanes and keep the harbour. If you have an extra hour, choose either an indoor visit or a meal; do not automatically add both.
