Explore Sanary’s harbour and neighbouring streets. Its colourful traditional fishing boats, called pointus, are a highlight. Allow half a day to walk along the quays, wander through the centre and stop at a café.
More about your visit
The harbour’s traditional boats, known as pointus, are one of Sanary’s landmarks. The local association brings owners together and documents the fleet. Look at shapes, colours and names without stepping aboard or touching mooring lines: this living heritage includes boats still used and cared for by their owners. For children, turn observation into a small game: find a colour, compare two bows or spot the differences between a traditional boat and a modern yacht.
After the quays, leave the waterfront briefly to explore streets and little squares. Choose a café or meal after walking around the area: an attractive terrace does not necessarily match the group’s preferences or planned budget.
Ollioules–Sanary railway station is not directly on the quays: allow for the final connection and check services for your date. By car, identify legal parking before entering busy areas. Late afternoon can be pleasant for the light, but your return must remain compatible with transport.
