The walk in detail

The tourist office gives approximately six kilometres and three hours for this loop. It describes the outing as active and sometimes vertiginous, with cliffside passages. Allow half a day including access and pauses. Do not combine this western loop with routes around La Badine, Tour Fondue or Le Niel: those belong to other parts of Giens.

The path changes direction, reveals another inlet and then moves a little inland through vegetation. Stops reveal Almanarre bay, the direction of Toulon and the open sea depending on the section. Choose sufficiently wide stopping places and keep away from edges.

Download the official map before leaving and check access conditions. Bring hiking shoes, water and sun protection. Mobile reception may make looking up a route halfway through less convenient; an offline map avoids relying on a page loading at the wrong moment.

Hyères municipality describes the coastal path as a sporting hike with cliff sections. Wind and sea conditions can make some passages uncomfortable or dangerous. Fire restrictions may also close natural areas. Check municipal and Metropolitan information before setting off, then respect any orders and barriers. The reopening or closure of another Giens section does not establish the status of the entire coast. An old hiking account is no reason to bypass a current closure.
