Explore Porquerolles on foot or by bike, between its village, paths and beaches. Allow a day for a beach stop and a walk. Regular ferries leave from La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula; other routes operate seasonally.
More about your visit
La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula is TLV-TVM’s main regular departure point. Other seasonal crossings operate from the coast, including the Toulon area. Compare the whole journey from your accommodation: reaching Giens, parking or taking a bus, waiting to board and then crossing creates a different rhythm from a longer direct sailing. Check the outward and return journeys with equal care. Frequency, prices and booking conditions change; keep the company’s link and allow enough time for the return.
On foot, favour a walk that matches your pace and one beach rather than an ambitious crossing of the whole island. By bicycle, tailor the route to the least confident rider; natural tracks require more attention than an urban cycle lane. Villa Carmignac can give the day an artistic focus, but plan the visit around the season’s opening and booking conditions.
National park rules and wildfire restrictions can limit access to paths. Check official information before leaving, even if your boat is running. Prepare water, sun protection, suitable footwear and a rubbish bag. An animal being accepted on a boat does not mean it is allowed everywhere on the island: check transport, paths and beaches separately.
With limited time or uncertain weather, a bay trip or mainland beach may be more restful.
